Oskarovac Deni Bojl i popularni scenarista Aleks Garland, koji je bio nominovan za Oskara, ponovo sarađuju na trećem nastavku priče smeštene u krvoločni zombi svet započet kultnim filmom „28 dana kasnije“.

Prošlo je već tri decenije otkako je virus pobegao iz laboratorije, a oni koji su preživeli i dalje pokušavaju da se izbore za svoju budućnost protiv zaraženih. Jedna takva grupa ljudi živi na malenom ostrvu povezanim s kopnom uskim nasipom, koji čuvaju naoružanjem. Međutim, kada jedan član grupe bude primoran da napusti ostrvo, na kopnu će otkriti zastrašujuće tajne o mutiranju ne samo zaraženih, već i preživelih…
